The wiper quit working

The windshield wiper suddenly stopped working.
The motor will come on when the switch is turned on.
The wiper will move by hand easily

Is there an easy way to remove the cover on the wiper assembly.
I understand that there is a tab on each side of this cover that needs to be manipulated to release the cover.

it sounds like the ball socket linkage has parted as you should not be able to move the wipers with ease.

May 13, 2009 - its not that difficult but could be costly as the parts are not aftermarket parts you may have to change the assembly as most wiper systems come complete. but its always worth trying to pop the ball back in to the socket first.
