DTC C1203/53 ECM Communication Circuit Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The circuit is used to send TRC and VSC control information from the skid control ECU to the ECM, and
engine control information from the ECM to the skid control ECU.
DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1203/53 Information relating to engine, drive source or
destination stored in ECM does not match information
stored in skid control ECU.

HINT:
Check that the part numbers of the installed ECM and skid control ECU are correct before performing the
following procedure.
(a) Clear the DTC (see page BC-47).
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Check if the same DTC is output (see page BC-47).

Hi All,
Hope someone can help me with a brake problem on my newly purchased 2007 Prius with 138K miles. Replaced the 12V battery as my mechanic was getting a high or low voltage error (C1241). Now, the ABS and brake warning lights are on and the brakes don't work right; it stops but the brakes don't feel right and grab somewhat when they shouldn't.

Error Codes C1203 and C1345 keep showing up. My mechanic tried to initialize the linear solenoid valve and calibrate several times, but the error codes keep returning.

Took it to my local dealer for its opinion. It said that the linear offset valve wasn't learning, that it tried to zero and calibrate the ECB linear actuator, but that the DTC reoccurs. They said I need to replace the ABS system actuator assembly for $3,000!
I'm hoping that something has been missed and that the ABS assembly is okay. The ABS seemed to be working properly before the battery was replaced.
I'd appreciate any advice.

ounds like a reasonable diagnosis. The skid control ECU is another possible problem area.
You may want to inquire into the availability of a used part to reduce the $3K repair price.

Any advice on buying a used one? I am trying to find one from a later model year and lower mileage. My mechanic also told me that there was a Toyota alert that some 04-07 Prius models that exhibited a squeak-type noise when pressing or releasing the brake pedal when the vehicle was in Ready mode but not moving. It would be fixed under warranty if under 36K/3 years.

Great advice, thanks again. Was able to see the part number without removing the windshield cowl tray. It is 44510-47050. I'm tracking one down now...hopefully I can secure one in the next few days.

i have similar problem prius 2007 /UK/ get stuck in deep snow end shortly red triangel
VSC ABS and red break came on and a car engin don't pull only goes on electric max 15km/h P 1346 ,P1310 and others less imported .
Reseting battery , clear the codesP1310 and a car run with vsc abs and red break on- bat now after 3ird time its hapend the
red triangel and P1310and P1346 is still on -reseting batery don't help, any one have any idea whats going on

Expert: ted ritter replied 1102 days and 15 hours ago.
The c0215 is a right rear wheel speed sensor code,inspect it to see if there is any physical damge to it, if so, replace it.

C1203 is for lost communication with the ECM(electronic control module), C1345 is linear solenoid valve undone, this relates to the ABS actuator,UO293 is lost communication with ECM. What I would suggest first is to have all the codes cleared and then see if the C0215 comes back, this is the root cause of all the other codes, without getting very technical this is what I would recommend.

2007 Toyota Prius 1.5L No Start, MIL Lamp on VIN: JTDKB2OU17
C1203: communication circuit malfunction. On start up engine will run for 5 to 10 seconds then cuts fuel and stalls after code sets, poaof in hv ecu. ICE can be kept running by adding fuel through throttle body. Car is from a body shop after being hit in the front end.
