I have a very simple question, I have a 2002 530i and I want to check if my GM3 module has been unprogrammed or killed, I have a friend with the SSS and progman software for BMW, and I know a BMW mechanic who can give me the walkthrough through the software.

So, I'm wondering if it is essential to have the electronic hardware (the yellow box) from the GT1 kit or if its possible to connect to the ECU through the PC using a OBD 2 to Serial connector.

1999 530d central locking problems 
hi all

my 530d has stopped locking remotely with the fob and will not central lock by using the key in the drivers door although when inside the car the doors will central lock from the centre consul switch , have checked all fuses and cannot see anything wrong the alarm does also not operate

any ideas thanks

Hi mate I had a similar problem, it seems if your battery has gone flat the Master key may need to be re-sinchronised by a series of tests in the ignition

get in teh car and shut the door. put the key in the ignition and turn it to position 2. (right before start) only leave it for like 1 second then turn the key back and take in out. press and hold the unlock button and press the lock button 3 times. At this time the vehicle will lock then unlock if done correctly.

when the first one has locked and unlocked the vehicle take the second key press and hold the unlock button and press the lock button 3 times. (no need to put it in the ignition) this again should lock and unlock the doors. If you have more keys they all have to be done at this time also. If this doesn't work your screwed. LOL nah if this doesn't work try holding the lock button and pressing the unlock button 3 times. then if neither works you have bigger issues.

But even if the keyfob and GM3 module are not synced, putting the key in the door should lock / unlock the car.
Mind you, this may have been disabled in the coding of the GM3.

W215リモコンキー・パワーウインドー不良2』

DASでチェックするとドアコントロールユニットのCAN不良と診断されたのでドアコントロールユニットをチェックしましたがコントロールユニットは壊れていないような感じです。
