Notes:
The newer timing chain driven engines which were phased in during model year 2009 the engine may need to be running at idle. Common examples of these engine codes include CCTA, CBFA and CCTA.
Never run Basic Settings with the IMRC motor linkage disconnected from the intake manifold. It may damage the new part.

Could this be the same issue with the intake flap motor? I do notice a slight loss in power, especially under boost. Also the DV "swoosh" sound is less noticeable. I have the latest revision but noticed this with the old one as well.

Warranty Extension for Intake Manifold Runner Control Motor and PCV Valve
Happily received notice of this in the mail last week.
For brevity... IMRCM = Intake Manifold Runner Control Motor.
Does anyone know what the specific fault codes are that would lead the dealer to replace the IMRCM and/or PCV valve? What exactly does the dealer need to see?

I've had multiple codes related to the IMRCM:
P0642
P1098
P2004
P3137
P3138
P3138
P3193
Not sure whether these fault codes alone illuminate the MIL because every time I hook up the vag-com, there are two emissions-related codes -- P0442 and P0456 -- which I know illuminate the MIL.
2013/8/6(火) 午後 3:12返信する
Typically I record, then clear the codes, then perform the Basic Setting for the IMRCM. At present there are no IMRCM-related faults that show up on a scan. But I'm sure they'll be back.
So I'm just wondering what codes must be present before I make an appointment with the dealer. The dealer wouldn't/couldn't tell me. Arghh!
Please share your experiences. Thx.

Just bring the car in and have it checked. No biggie. If you go in early in the morning you shouldn't have to wait more than 30 minutes or so to know if they need to replace the motor.
2013/8/6(火) 午後 3:13返信する
I could do that, but if there are no fault-codes, I'm fairly certain they'd send me and the car on my way, with no repairs performed. Who knows, they may even try to charge me for their time. Wouldn't be unheard of...
2013/8/6(火) 午後 3:14返信する
No most likely they will do the work if its been slow there just to get money from VWoA and get some hours for the techs there
That's possible, I suppose.
But I'm still looking for info re the original post. Has anyone had this warranty work done? If so, what were the circumstances?

CEL (Codes P0642, P2004, P3137)
14 days after i picked up my 06 2.0T it throws a CEL. i called the dealer that sold it to me , they brought it in and pulled the codes.
According to the paperwork they gave me there is a TSB for this combination, so they are booking a visit with the local VW dealership near to work for me.
Any other thoughts on the combination of codes?

yup very common to see these codes. It will not hurt your motor running at all. You will just notice a little decrease in fuel mileage.
is it hard to change that??? is it expensive for the dealer to change it? do u guys have so many problems with your cars?

Intake manifold flap V157
So I have received an emmisions workshop warning and Vagcom found this:
19558 - Motor for Intake Manifold Flap (V157): No Signal
P3102 - 000 - - - Intermittent
I took the cover off of it and bent the contacts a little but that did not work. I have unplugged it a few times to try and clean the contacts and that did not work either.
2013/8/7(水) 午前 6:54返信する
Do I just need to buy a new one or is there something else I could try. The car runs fine except the mileage has been slowly dropping and shutdown is a little rough which I hear are common with the flap not working.

How do you test it? I know the gears are not stripped and it closes freely.
2013/8/7(水) 午前 6:56返信する
You can view it's functionality by removing the egr valve and looking in with a flashlight to watch the flap close on shut down. If it does not close when you turn the engine off, it is not working. I took mine out and cleaned it up - the gears moved freely with the flap.
2013/8/7(水) 午前 6:58返信する
I kind of noticed a sticky spot when it was closed but seemed ok - through testing as described, it was not closing at shut-down. I did not experience rough shut downs though. After I replaced it with the one purchased from ebay, my light went off and the code did not come back. If you want the sellers name, I can track it down - PM me if interested.
