Need: A/C wiring diagram. 05-09-2007 10:36 PM #1 Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the A/C system for a MKIV Jetta? VR6 if it matters.
My air conditioning stopped working. Pressures look good. No voltage at the compressor. No voltage at the switch in the passenger/firewall corner of the engine bay.
I pulled the fan control module (relay in the big black box under the battery) and disassembled and it looked good. Besides, when I hit the A/C button I can hear the relay click and the rad fans start spinning.
So I need to take a look at a schematic to figure out where the break is. A physical layout would be nice too so I can actually find whatever seems to be the culprit.
Thanks!

When you press the button, does the compressor spin? If not, then you may have a faulty clutch coil. To check the coil, put an ohm-meter across the clutch pins. Around 4 ohms and you are good. You can test the coil by putting 12v across the 2 pins. If it energizes and spins the compressor, then it's not the clutch.

I'll give it a shot, but shouldn't I be getting 12V at one of the wires on the 2-wire harness at the compressor?

If it's the fuse, your EPC and brake light come on...trust me on this one. I will be following this, bc mine randomly blows a fuse. Usually when it's above 85 outside. IDK, but it never happens when it isn't as warm out.
All the fuses in the fuse box look good. The links in the junction box on top of the battery are also good.
Like I said, the AC button clicks the relay under the battery which should energize the compressor clutch coil and the radiator fans. The fans spin, but neither the clutch nor that one pressure switch get any voltage.

One way or another I'll probably have to get ahold of a schematic for this one. I think there's another pressure switch and a temp switch somewhere?

Did you check the fuse?

Uh, I think he was looking for a wiring diagram for the A/C not a hose diagram for the cooling system.
