According to WIS I’ve checked the Z7/27 cable from the M16/7 in the Recirculated air flap to the ME-SFI, they said that if pin #1 in M16/7 to pin 38 in the ME-SFI had a value of more than 0.5 ohm I should re-solder + put a heat shrink over it... but my problem was not there, it was the upstream O2 sensor...

今回ハーネスを分解交換した個体の場合、M16/6r1のスロットル開度センサの配線と、M16/6m1のアクチュエータ電源の配線がショート状態でした。
ということで、どうやらスロットルアクチュエータ本体よりも、その先のECU等に影響が出ている様子です。

EIS repair tips?
Hello
I have had the bad luck of having the EIS on my 1998 E230 being diagnosed as back. Am staring at a repair bill of about USD 1500 for a replacement EIS and replacement Keys. The merc dealership advises to have both new ones!

- I am wondering if anyone on the forum has ventures to take apart an EIS and figure out what typically goes to fault.
- Is it even worth the effort.
- IS it advisable even?
- Would it affect the dealerships ability to fit the new EIS/Key?
Would appreciate sharing of members' experiences on this one. I really want my merc to get firing again and not necessarily burn a $1500 hole in my pocket.

01年式 ベンツ W220 S320 エンジンが掛からない
ベンツ W220 S320 01年式 です。
W220は全般的に非常に良く出来た車では無いかと思います。W140に比べ、非常に乗り易く剛性感もあり電子的になったと思うモデルです。ですので電子的な箇所の故障はあります。
今回はエンジンが急に始動しない・・・セルは回る・・・
という症状です。
バッテリーの電圧もあり、セルも異常ない。メーターの電気がなんかおかしい・・・これはEZSの典型的な故障の症状です。EZSとはキーユニットの事で、キーを差込み、認識し、信号としてECUに伝える大切なユニットです。ただ、電気系なので前兆があまりなく、急に来るので厄介です。故障すると、まずエンジンが一向に始動しないので・・・

EZSは部品価格１０万円位します。高いですね。
ただセキュリティの意味合いもありますので、致し方ないかもしれませんが。今回はヤナセにて部品を発注致しました。
交換後、テスターにて初期設定し、無事納車です。
W220へお乗りの方で、一回も交換されていない方、特に前期モデル９８年～０２年の方は、要注意かもしれません。
W220は、エアサス・オイル漏れ・シフトユニット・EZS・ECU・ラジアスアーム・ロアアーム・ボールジョイント・メーターの液晶不良など点検整備は必須です。
EZSは修理業者も居られますが・・
私は新品交換をお勧めする部品です。
