It's now been a couple years since my 1.8t became reluctant to shift out of first (or maybe second), with rpms high and loud until it finally shifts and jolts the whole rig.

I was told by the local thieves that they read a code for the transmission RANGE CONTROLLER, which they have no clue about, other than that it might be part of the 'electric valve body,' neither of which I have a clue about.

Thinking I need t have a look at this, no doubt they want 1000 bucks for one:

Does anybody know what kind of symptoms come with a burned F125?

my audi A6 has a tiptronic gear box with no clutch. the engine races once in a while as if it has no power. when I turn off the engine and start up again it is ok what could that be.

so far every mechanic i went to does not want to work on tiptronic trannys and i dont blame them, but the tranny is spossed to hold up to 300 hp. i hear many tiptronic cars(stock) are having problems. driving an audi i would expect to have more reliable tranny since it is compared with bmw and mercedes.

F-125 location
Hi:
anybody can tell me where is the F-125 multifunction switch.it is around the transmission.My audi A6 2.8 99 recently shows no gear indicator on the dashboard,and checked with the diagnosis, found that the F-125 might faulty,I want to check if was getting dirty or short circuit with some stuff,but could not locate it,anybody can help?is it easy to reach?how?what tools needed?

A flashing transmission range display indicator in the instrument cluster means the vehicle could come to an immediate stop or might not continue operation the next time the vehicle is stopped. This could mean that stopping at a traffic signal can cause traffic to be obstructed.
The flashing transmission range display is requesting the driver to stop his or her vehicle at the nearest possible location and to inform an Audi authorized dealer.
